Takes 1.5 minutes to read)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stupefied-maxwell.66-175-236-136.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/10645012_326841164152330_2711931891010770465_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1136 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/stupefied-maxwell.66-175-236-136.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/10645012_326841164152330_2711931891010770465_n-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"10645012_326841164152330_2711931891010770465_n\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Forget\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2026.how Halloween originated (<em>most<\/em> people don\u2019t know; the ones who do don\u2019t seem to really care; and the ones who do know and really hate it make it known.)<\/li>\n<li>.\u2026.the candy (most of us say we love that part).<\/li>\n<li>\u2026..costumes: most people just like dressing (and acting) differently than which (or is that witch?) they really are. It actually seems to be more of an adult celebration these days\u2026.doesn\u2019t it?<\/li>\n<li>\u2026..the sugar highs and headaches the next day!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>But don\u2019t forget what I\u2019m about to share with you\u2026.please.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having known a few families (including my own) who\u2019ve endured some very deep and devastating hardships, it\u2019s really hard to laugh at, enjoy, tolerate, or even look at some things that are portrayed in yards, storefronts, and on many costume counters and people who \u201cdress up\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve known someone who\u2019s taken their own life (suicide) or someone whose life has been taken from them (murder), these displays and costumes are difficult to view with humor. Death, physical or emotionally harm, and their results are tragic. Some things one never forgets.<\/p>\n<p>Honestly, it\u2019s hard for me (and no, I won\u2019t share why) and many others to view blood, guts, and heads lying on the ground \u2013 even if it\u2019s pretend. Memories \u2013 whether imagined from a situation that was real or from viewing something really awful happening makes this time of year a bit of a challenge.<\/p>\n<p>We won\u2019t ask you to take anything down or dress differently\u2026.but just recognize that we\u2019re out here.
